In partnership with the City of York, Creative York will accept art submissions for the "Adult Juried Exhibition" of Yorkfest. All artists age 18 and over who have created a fine art piece of any medium within the last two years are encouraged to submit their artwork for this exhibition. The exhibition will run from Thursday, July 30, to Saturday, Sept. 19. The submission deadline is Monday, June 15.
Creative York offers online, private drawing lessons to help aspiring artists. Through video conferencing, teaching artists will provide a lesson that is tailored to the student's skill level and goals. All students need is internet access, a quiet room, a pencil, paper, and a soft eraser. Classes are available for individuals age 8 and older. There is a per-hour cost. For more information or to schedule a lesson, readers may contact info@creativeyork.org.
Arts Discovery Summer Camps provide students ages 5 to 14 with the opportunity to learn about clay, watercolor, printmaking, storytelling, and more. Due to the current heath crisis, parents may register children for camp without upfront payment. Advance registration will secure a seat in these high-demand camps.
The annual Art in the Parks activities will take place in Allen Park, Tremont and Hay streets. The first week of programming will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, June 22, through Friday, June 26.
