Creative York Slates Camps

Creative York will offer Arts Discovery Camps virtually in July. All camps will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Draw Your Own Story Camp, for children ages 8 to 10, will be held on Monday to Friday, July 6 to 10. Two sessions of Clay Sculpture Camp will be available. Children ages 8 to 10 may participate on Monday to Friday, July 27 to 31, and youths ages 11 to 14 may join in on Monday to Friday, July 13 to 17. Characters and Cartooning Camp for youths ages 11 to 14 will meet on Monday to Friday, July 20 to 24.

Each camper will receive an art supply delivery complete with everything they need for camp. Campers will join the classroom via Zoom each day for a structured lesson. Then campers will have independent work time away from the screen with the option of jumping back into the classroom to ask their teaching artist questions, if needed. Finally, everyone will come back together to finish the lesson and share what they have created.

Campers can expect individualized attention from their teaching artist, projects that focus on both skill building and creative expression, independent work time, a community atmosphere, and the option to have their artwork featured on Creative York's social media pages. As is Creative York tradition, at the end of the week, campers will show off what they made in an art show.

Only eight children or fewer will participate in every virtual classroom. There is a fee for each camp. To learn more and to register, readers may visit http://www.creativeyork.org.
