Crowell To Speak At Round Table

The Central Pennsylvania Vietnam Round Table will meet on Veterans Day, Thursday, Nov. 11, at Vietnam Veterans of America, Michael J. Novosel MOH Chapter 542, 8000 Derry St., Harrisburg, at 7:30 p.m. Following a brief business meeting, Gary Crowell from Camp Hill will deliver remarks.

A long-time friend of former Gov. Tom Ridge, Crowell served during Ridge's administration as secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of General Services and later as special assistant to the secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He also served as assistant director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Crowell is a Vietnam veteran, serving in-country during 1966 and 1967 as a member of the 1st Marine Division. For his service, he was awarded the Bronze Star with V Device, Purple Heart, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Presidential Unit Citation.
