The Cultural Alliance of York County has announced the seven finalists for its Artist Innovator Award. A single award winner will be chosen from the finalists to receive an unrestricted cash award. The community is invited to the public announcement of the winner at an outdoor event on Friday, Oct. 23, at DreamWrights Center for Community Arts at 6 p.m.
Finalists are Carol Clark Williams, literary arts; Thaddeus Shaw and Ambitious Caban, music; Ophelia Chambliss and Abigail Crone, visual arts; Krystal Younglove, performing arts; and Miles Murdaugh, video/film.
Artists working in any medium and living in York County were invited to create a profile of their work on the arts and culture website York365.com. Profiles were scored by peer reviewers from around the country, and a new panel composed of three multidisciplinary jurors will choose a single awardee from the finalists.
