CVSD Recognized For Music Programs

The Conestoga Valley School District (CVSD) has been recognized by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) as a 2022 Best Community for Music Education, a designation from the NAMM Foundation for outstanding commitment to music education. Now in its 23rd year, the Best Community for Music Education designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students.

Student musicians have access to the Orff Instrumentarium and ukuleles in the elementary classrooms. In addition to string, band, and choral ensembles, students can also compose, arrange, and perform with guitars and music production software in the high school audio production workspace.

Conestoga Valley's music department staff designs curricula and instruction that are aligned with the unique and changing needs of its students. Its music educators have extensive training in Orff, Kodaly, First Steps, Conversational Solfege, Soundtrap, Noteflight, TI:ME, and VoiceNetwork.

In addition, grants from the Conestoga Valley Education Foundation (CVEF) have given students and staff unique opportunities not otherwise available in the district's regular budget, including the aforementioned audio production lab and ukuleles.
