Dayspring Christian Academy (DCA), 120 College Ave., Mountville, will graduate 19 seniors, including four from its first Honors High School Class. The school also recognized student achievements at its annual honors ceremony.
Stephanie Horst of Lancaster received the Rosalie J. Slater American Valedictorian Scholar Award, and Joseph Engle of Lititz was given the Verna M. Hall American Salutatorian Scholar Award.
Freshman Caroline Hostetter of Pequea and sophomore Mishael Opala of Lancaster were inducted into the National Honor Society.
The following awards are given to the student with the highest grade percentage average in grades six to 11: Eliana Graybill, grade six, Lancaster, Abraham Lincoln Scholar; Alayna Self, grade seven, Lancaster, Thomas Edison Scholar; Nora Whiteford, grade eight, York, William Penn Scholar; Jude Prestidge, grade nine, Elizabethtown, John Milton Scholar; Allyson Stauffer, grade 10, Lancaster, Sir Robert Boyle Scholar; and Emma Hasting, grade 11, Manheim, Noah Webster Scholar.
Senior Kate Myers of Lancaster received the J.S. Bach Choral Music Award. Senior Bryanna Still of Talmage received the Rembrandt Award in fine arts.
American Christian Athlete Awards were given to Alison Bruner, grade 10, of York and senior Joseph Engle. Joseph also received the PIAA District III E. Jerry Brooks Academic Excellence Award, as did Kate Myers and senior Daniel Stoltzfus of Lancaster. Kate and senior Zachary Rabold of Refton received the PIAA District III Fackler-Hower Sportsmanship Award.
The Jerry Darrenkamp Leadership Scholarship was awarded to senior Goldfinger Johnsons of Lancaster in memory of Jerry Darrenkamp of Darrenkamp's Food Market. Goldfinger also received the American Christian Leadership Award.
