Dedication Ceremony Planned

A ceremony will be held on Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, to dedicate Memorial Field, the lighted baseball field at Little Hollywood Park, 393 Little Hollywood Drive, Middletown. The half-hour ceremony will begin promptly at 3 p.m.

During the ceremony, Nathan Russo, a member of Boy Scout Troop 594 of Middletown, will dedicate the field to the U.S. armed forces. As his Eagle Scout project, Russo recently installed five flagpoles at the field and purchased one flag each for the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard. He raised more than $4,000 in donations from the community for the purchase of the flagpoles and flags as well as installation and landscaping.

The ceremony is open to the public, and patriotic face masks will be given to the first 100 attendees. Reservations are not needed, but questions may be emailed to russoeagleproject@comcast.net.
