The Adamstown Area Library has scheduled a Winter Wine and Food Pairing Dinner on Friday, Feb. 7, to benefit its Room to Grow Capital Campaign. The event will start at 6 p.m. at Foxchase Golf Club, 300 Stevens Road, Stevens. The snow date will be Saturday, Feb. 8.
String quartet Musica Dolce will perform to begin the evening, after which there will be a dinner featuring five courses of paired foods and wines with comments by food and wine experts. The menu includes prosciutto-wrapped asparagus, rocket salad, pasta farfalette di salmone, sweet marsala braised short ribs served with rosemary garlic Parmesan mashed potatoes, and limoncello mascarpone sponge cake. Tickets are available for a per-person fee, with a portion considered a tax-deductible gift to the Room to Grow Capital Campaign. Tickets are available for purchase at the library through Friday, Jan. 31.
The Room to Grow Capital Campaign will support construction of the library's new home, just a block away from its current location at 110 W. Main St., Adamstown. The new location will offer amenities including state-of-the-art technology; handicapped-accessibility; an expanded children's learning center; multi-use space for educational, civic, and social events; a tranquility garden with a seating area; and coffee service with a place to meet and visit. The building will be completely updated and retrofitted and will feature an open floor plan with natural light.
