Columbia Borough School District is in need of winter coats of all sizes for boys and girls in grades five through 12. Those who have unused coats in good condition are encouraged to consider donating them.
In 2017, the community helped students obtain winter coats; the response was so great at that time that the supply of donated coats has lasted until now. At the high school and middle school levels (grades five through 12), the district recently gave away its last coat. The district still has coats remaining for elementary-age students.
To donate new or slightly used winter coats to the district, readers may contact superintendent Tom Strickler or drop them off at the district office, located at 200 N. Fifth St., Columbia. To arrange to have the items picked up, readers may call Strickler at 717-681-2616.
