Byrnes Health Education Center will present "Drugs 101: What Parents Need to Know" on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the auditorium at Centerville Middle School, 865 Centerville Road, Lancaster. This free program, for adults only, seeks to educate parents about the various forms of drugs and the peer pressures that can encourage students to use them.
Throughout the presentation, more than 80 drug and alcohol indicators will be unveiled to show how some adolescents hide drug and alcohol use from their parents. Gateway drugs will be discussed, including signs and symptoms of use and current trends. In addition, the program will focus on vaping, marijuana and prescription drugs. Participants will receive an informational packet along with a prescription drug disposal kit.
This event is funded by the Lancaster Hempfield Rotary Club.
