The Manheim Township board of commissioners (BOC) recently announced the appointment of James Drumm as township manager. The commissioners gathered in a special meeting and approved the appointment unanimously. Drumm began work on March 23.
Drumm brings 25 years of municipal management experience to the position. Drumm has served as a municipal manager in locations in Georgia and Florida, where he directed large budgets and employee complements, including police and fire departments.
Drumm holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science and public administration from the University of Florida, Gainesville, and a Master of Arts in public administration from the University of South Florida. Drumm holds the city manager credential from the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), a certification earned through outside reviewers' examination of education, experience, and professional development.
The Manheim Township manager leads daily operations of all municipal departments in the township, including police, fire and emergency management services (EMS), public works, code enforcement, planning and zoning, finance, parks, recreation, and library services.
