Duo Will Perform At Church

Nov 17, 2019 - 3:00 pm

Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 36 Church St., Rothsville, will host the duo Silver, Wood, and Ivory in concert on Sunday, Nov. 17, at 3 p.m.

Silver, Wood, and Ivory features Tracy Dietrich on woodwinds and Cindy Wittenberg on piano and Celtic harp. The duo has performed throughout the eastern U.S., including local venues such at the American Music Theatre, Hershey Theatre, and Mount Gretna Music. Both musicians are professionals with performance degrees: Dietrich from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Wittenberg from Elizabethtown College and the Peabody Conservatory of Music.

Dietrich's collection of woodwind instruments contains soprano, alto and tenor recorders; a wooden and silver flute; alto and bass flutes; a piccolo; a pan flute; pennywhistles; Native American flutes; and a contrabass flute that stands more than six feet high. The duo's program of classical, sacred, and popular pieces will include "Badinerie" by Johann Sebastian Bach, "Scherzino" by Joachim Anderson, "On Eagle's Wings" by Michael Joncas, and two works from Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals.

A freewill offering will be received during the intermission. Handicapped-accessible parking is available on the right side of the building, with elevator access through the glass entrance doors under the canopy.

The event is part of the church's 2019-20 Music at Jerusalem Concert Series. For more information, readers may call the church office at 717-626-8972.
