On Feb. 5, Elizabethtown Area High School (EAHS) held its annual Athlete Recognition Day. This celebration was for EAHS athletes who plan to continue their sports careers at the collegiate level. Joining the athletes were their families, teammates, and coaches, as well as faculty members and administration. The event took place in the high school auditorium.
As part of the celebration, the 15 honorees were saluted by their coaches for the contributions each made to his or her sports program. The coaches read off the many accolades earned by each student-athlete, with common themes such as Lancaster-Lebanon League all-stars, team captains, and MVP award winners, as well as leadership qualities and academic accolades.
The honorees are McKenna Dare, volleyball, Penn State - Mont Alto; Steven Dixon, track and field, East Stroudsburg University; Madisyn Ealy, lacrosse, Lycoming College; Elijah Eberly, basketball, DeSales University; Alyssa Hamilton, softball, Lebanon Valley College; Mackenzie Hammaker, field hockey, Kutztown University; Haley Hoffman, field hockey, Mercyhurst University; Kadey Kreider, lacrosse, Arcadia University; Marley Kreiser, rugby, West Chester University; Kierstan Lentz, diving, Youngstown State University; Julia Raybold, soccer, West Chester University; Kaelynn Sheetz, soccer, Penn College of Technology; Olivia Shuck, soccer, Messiah College; Aiden Weaver, soccer, Stanford University; and Katelyn Weissend, lacrosse, Liberty University.
