East Berlin Area Community Center (EBACC), 405 North Ave., East Berlin, will host a variety of activities in the coming months. Unless otherwise noted, all activities will take place at EBACC. EBACC will hold its spring Zumbathon on Saturday, May 4, at 9 a.m. There is a fee, payable at the door. Children are welcome to participate, and children under 10 may participate for free. Attendees should bring water and a towel.
Six-week Taekwondo classes will be offered on Thursdays for children ages 6 to 12. One session will be available from April 18 to May 23. Another will be available from May 30 to July 11, with no class on July 4. In both sessions, children ages 6 to 8 will meet from 6 to 6:45 p.m. and children ages 8 to 12 will meet from 7 to 7:45 p.m. There is a fee per session, and space is limited to 12 participants.
A Kids and Kanvas Paint Night will take place on Monday, April 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. The fee per artist includes all supplies. Children should be able to keep their attention on their project for two hours. Adults may assist their child or paint their own canvas for an additional fee. The activity is suggested for children age 6 and up.
Lay Responder Certifications will be offered in a blended learning format. Attendees will complete the lecture portion of the class at home at any time and learn hands-on skills in the classroom using mannequins. Class work will take place on Monday, April 22, at 6 p.m. or on Tuesday, July 16, at 6 p.m. Space is limited to 12 participants. Separate fees have been set for Adult CPR/AED - Adult, for CPR/AED/First Aid, and for CPR/AED/FA Ad/Pediatric.
Identical Medicare 101 Educational Seminars will be offered on April 29 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and on Monday, May 6, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., with another session set to take place in August. There is no fee, but registration is required.
The Biggest Yard Sale in Adams County will take place on Saturday, April 27, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine. The event will feature more than 250 vendors, along with concessions.
The Art of Bonsai, a lecture and demonstration, on Wednesday, May 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. Admission is a donation to EBACC.
A Planter Designer Class will occur at Hosta Hideaway, 95 Sequoia Court, York Springs, on Thursday, May 9, at 7 p.m. The fee includes all supplies.
Glass Garden Art - It's Glasstastic! will be held on Saturday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to noon. The fee includes all supplies.
Basic Dog Obedience Training will be offered. Participants may attend on Thursdays, May 2 to June 6, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. or on Wednesdays, June 12 to July 17, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The class will be held outside at the pavilion. There is a fee.
American Sign Language (ASL) for Beginners will take place on Wednesdays, May 8 to June 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. There is a fee to attend.
EBACC will host Touch a Truck on Saturday, May 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Separate fees have been set per person and per family.
On My Own, a dance program for kindergarten through second-grade students, will be offered on Saturdays, May 4 to June 8, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. There is a fee.
Me and You, a creative movement class, will be offered for 3- to 5-year-olds. Participants may attend on Saturdays, May 4 to June 8, from 10 to 11 a.m. There is a fee for each adult-and-child pair, with a separate fee for each additional child with an adult.
Clearance sales will take place at the Thrift Shoppe on the following Thursdays through Saturdays: May 9 to 11, June 13 to 15, July 11 to 13, Aug. 8 to 10, and Sept. 5 to 7. Sales will take place on Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Refreshments will be available, and parking will be free.
