ECHOS Receives Grants

Elizabethtown Community Housing & Outreach Services (ECHOS) recently received a $3,000 grant from Truist Foundation and a $5,000 from the PPL Foundation.

The Truist grant will go toward furnishing and outfitting apartments designated to provide crisis housing. The Crisis Housing Program provides safe housing for individuals and families with disabilities experiencing a crisis that has led to homelessness and basic need insecurity. The staff members who work in this program expressed gratitude because they are able to support clients in overcoming crisis, building resiliency, and garnering skills for continued success.

The other grant - PPL's second contribution to ECHOS - will help enhance ECHOS' Enrichment Services, an information and referral program that provides Elizabethtown's most vulnerable residents with program connection, skills training, career coaching, computer access, and more. This program started in January 2020, and it will move to the new Enrichment Center later this year.
