Elizabethtown Community Housing and Outreach Services (ECHOS) relies on a variety of volunteer support for its work in the community to assist individuals in need. ECHOS is seeking volunteers for its moving team coordinator and donation center coordinator positions. Additionally, ECHOS is gearing up to open the doors to its emergency winter shelter for the fifth year. Last year, the shelter saw a 76% increase in beds used. Volunteers are sought to oversee the operations of the shelter, and the shelter is seeking 73 volunteers per week.
Individuals interested in volunteering to assist with the winter shelter will need to attend one of four trainings offered by ECHOS. The second training will be held on Sunday, Oct. 27, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Community Place on Washington, 61 E. Washington St., Elizabethtown.
