Educational Programs Set

Community REACH Inc., 15 First Avenue, Red Lion, will offer free programs designed for the community served by the Dallastown, Eastern, and Red Lion School districts. All sessions are free; however, advance registration is requested. Walk-ins will also be welcome.

On Monday, March 23, from 2 to 3 p.m., PeoplesBank will present "Using Credit Cards." The workshop will discuss how credit cards work and important credit card terms. Two door prizes will be awarded.

Dylan Maxwell, York County School of Technology, will share on "Interviewing Skills" from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24. Attendees will learn interviewing skills that will assist them during their next interview. Maxwell will provide current interviewing techniques and an interactive session that will be valuable to all participants, regardless of interview experience. Registration is required. Two door prizes will be awarded.

Community REACH, in partnership with the York County Literacy Council, will offer free High School Equivalency classes at the new Community REACH classroom on March 24 from 1 to 3 p.m. Space is still available. A class will also be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25.

A cooking and nutrition class, Nutrition Links Session No. 5, will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on, March 25 in conjunction with Penn State Extension, Nutrition Links. Registration will be required.

The English Language Learning class will meet from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 26. Small group and individual instruction will take place during this class. A door prize will be awarded.

"Tobacco Cessation and Vaping" will be offered from 10 to 11 a.m. on March 26. The class is open to current tobacco users, former tobacco users, and friends or family members. The sesion will highlight the nature of tobacco/nicotine-use addiction, treatment options, effective support, benefits of quitting, and resources. Attendees need not be ready to quit to attend.

High School Equivalency Tutoring will be available from 1 to 2:15 p.m. on March 26. This tutoring session is for students registered in the York Literacy Council/Community REACH High School Equivalency class. Group and individual instruction will be provided.

A Computers and Technology Class will be held on March 26 from 2 to 3 p.m. While beginners will cover basic topics, experienced users are welcome to use the Chromebooks for any tasks they may want to do. A door prize will be awarded.

"Trauma Informed Parenting" will be presented from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, March 27, by Kate Diorio, director of pupil services, Red Lion Area School District. Participants will learn how trauma affects the brain, as well as strategies to support children.
