Elizabethtown Area High School (EAHS) seniors Allison Evans and Maxwell McCloud were named the Elizabethtown Rotary Club's Students of the Month for January. This program seeks to recognize students' achievements by sustaining a culture of learning that values academic success and raises awareness of student contributions to the EAHS community.
Allison is the daughter of Andy and Jodie Evans of Elizabethtown. She was recognized for outstanding achievement and growth in Honors Biochemistry, Honors Chemistry, German 2, German 3, Advanced Placement Psychology, and Honors U.S. History as part of the high school's underclassman awards program. She also received the Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award. Allison is vice president of the Class of 2022, captain of the tennis team, a co-editor of the school newspaper, and flute/piccolo section leader for the concert band, as well as a member of the bowling and track and field teams, the Roots & Shoots Club, the National Honor Society, and the Key Club. In addition, she is active with Mini-THON and the peer tutoring program. Her talents on the tennis court have earned her Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 2 Player of the Year accolades, as well as Section 2 and league All-Star status. Allison was the high school's 2021 homecoming queen. Outside school, she is active with St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Middletown. Her plans after graduation include attending college and majoring in a science-related field.
Maxwell is the son of Jeff and Elizabeth McCloud of Elizabethtown. He is head drum major for the marching band and a member of the cross-country team, the track and field team, Student Council, National Honor Society, the Roots & Shoots Club, and the choir. In the community, he is active with Christ Church United Church of Christ in Elizabethtown, where he is a member of the youth choir. After graduation, Maxwell plans to attend college to study environmental science with the goal of working in a wilderness protection career.
