The Manheim Township Recreation Department will sponsor a bike ride of approximately 6 miles for people age 8 and above on Friday, Aug. 16, at 6 p.m. Participants will travel from Stoner Park, 1280 Winchester Drive, Lancaster, to Landis Woods and back, with occasional breaks to learn about the habitats and native flora and fauna that are passed.
Attendees must be able to bike at least 6 miles on natural and sometimes hilly trails. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and children under 12 must wear a helmet, though all participants are encouraged to do so. Fees per participant and per family have been set. Registration is available at the recreation department office, Stauffer Mansion, 1241 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, or by calling 717-290-7180.
