Celebrating York's Unity Through 10,000 Acts of Kindness will celebrate poets of all ages in York who entered the Kindness Matters Poetry Contest at a free public event at York's Parliament Arts, 116 E. King St., on Wednesday, June 12, at 6 p.m. Twelve area poets will read their poetry as part of the event. Carla Christopher, a York poet and kindness advocate, will facilitate the program. There will be meet-and-greets with the poets before and after the readings, and light refreshments will be served.
Elementary winners are Wesley Grove, David Warde and Nazare Brown. Middle school honorees are Natally Perez, Quantez Moody, Deborah Yanez and Kya Moul. Adult winners are Dot McDonald, Pat Long and Jill Euclide.
