The Lancaster County Office of Aging has posted exercise classes for people age 60 and up. All classes are free, but registration is required.
The agency sponsors indoor aquatic classes at three local sites year-round: the Lancaster City YMCA, 265 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays; the Lampeter-Strasburg YMCA, 800 Village Road, Lancaster, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays; and the Lititz recCenter, 301 W. Maple St., Lititz, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays.
Certified instructors will lead participants through a one-hour class that incorporates cardiovascular and strength exercises in a low-impact manner. Call 717-299-7924 for registration information.
Additionally, Geri-Fit, a strength training program designed to improve balance, flexibility, and strength, is being offered.
