Extension Sets Fruit School

The annual Penn State Extension Commercial Tree Fruit School (formerly known as the Commercial Tree Fruit Growers Meeting for Lancaster/York Counties) will be held at the Farm and Home Center, 1383 Arcadia Road, Lancaster, on Tuesday, Feb. 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The meeting will include sessions for pesticide core and category credits.

Attendees will learn about improving herbicide strategies, understanding orchard diseases, pollination by wild bees, controlling San Jose scale and other secondary pests, protecting water resources when mixing and loading pesticides, and glyphosate in the environment and understanding hazards and risks. There will also be updates on spotted lanternfly and fruit cultivar and rootstock.

A cost has been set for attendees, with a separate fee set for exhibitors per table covering one meal.
