Those interested in learning more about Alzheimer's disease and dementia are encouraged to participate in a workshop offered by Penn State Extension from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21, at the Farm and Home Center, 1383 Arcadia Road, Lancaster. "Understanding Alzheimer's and Dementia" will cover the basics of Alzheimer's and dementia, explore the relationship between the two, teach what happens in a brain affected by Alzheimer's, cover risk factors and the three general stages of the disease, and provide other helpful Alzheimer's resources.
