EYRA Plans Activities

Zumba will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays. The program is open to individuals age 12 and older.

Open Gym Basketball will be available for men age 30 and older from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays. There is a nominal fee to participate, payable at the door.

Co-Rec Open Gym Volleyball will be held on Fridays, Feb. 7 and 21, from 7 to 10 p.m. The program is open to players age 15 and older. There is a nominal fee to participate, payable at the door.

Upcycle for the Birds will take place on Thursday, Feb. 20, from 6 to 7 p.m. The program is open to children ages 5 to 12. Participants will turn an empty bottle into a bird feeder to hang in the yard. The program will also include a discussion about things that can be placed outside for the birds during the winter.

A Salsa Family Workshop will be offered on Saturday, March 14, from 10 to 11 a.m. and is open to individuals age 5 and older. The hands-on activity will include chopping fresh herbs and vegetables to create salsa as well as veggie games.

Homemade Herb Butter will be held on Tuesday, March 31, from 6 to 7 p.m. Family members age 5 and older are invited to learn how to make homemade herb butter. Attendees will also learn how to propagate herb plants from cuttings and leave with a cutting to grow at home.

A program on Self-Watering Containers will take place on Saturday, April 4, from 10 to 11 a.m. and is open to children ages 5 to 12. Participants will learn how to turn an empty gallon jug into a garden, and they may take home their container garden to grow their own vegetables. Participants will also make homemade dressing and eat a spring salad.

A seminar, Attack - Prevent Being Victimized, will be offered on Wednesday, May 13, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The program is open to people age 18 and older. The seminar will teach methods individuals can use to increase awareness and prevent criminal confrontation. Attendees will get the tools needed to develop their own personal safety strategy.
