EYRA Schedules New Programs

Babysitting Training for teens ages 11 to 15 will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5, and Thursday, April 14, at the Lower Windsor Township Building, 2425 Craley Road, Wrightsville. Participants will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. The class includes leadership skills, how to develop a babysitting business, keeping oneself and others safe, helping children behave, and basic first aid.

Adult CPR/AED classes will be offered for individuals age 14 and older on Tuesday, March 15; Saturday, March 19; and Tuesday, April 12, at either the Hellam Township Municipal Building, 44 Walnut Springs Road, York, or the Lower Windsor Township Building. Participants have the option of adding first aid and pediatric CPR training components to their certification. The March 19 class will be conducted fully in a classroom setting. The March 15 and April 12 classes will be a blended class with a portion completed online prior to the classroom instruction.

Attack: Prevent Being Victimized will take place on April 12 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hellam Township Municipal Building. The seminar teaches methods to increase awareness and prevent criminal confrontation. Participants age 16 and older will learn to develop their own personal strategy for home and phone security, traveling, technology, physical security and more.

Basic Handgun Safety will be held Friday, June 10, at the Lower Windsor Township Training Room in the township building for people age 18 and older. This training teaches firearm ownership responsibility, shooting defensively, loading and unloading, ammunition storage, and more.
