Officers, directors and members of the Elizabethtown Fair Committee attended workshops and seminars at the recent convention of the Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs (PSACF) in Hershey. The PSACF is comprised of 108 fairs across the state.
Alyssa Neff, 2019 Elizabethtown Fair Queen, represented the fair in the State Fair Queen competition at the convention. She competed against 59 fair queens from across Pennsylvania.
A communications competition was also part of the four-day convention. The Elizabethtown Fair placed first for its Premium Book, and Sally Nolt took second place for a placemat incorporating pictures taken by Rachel George. In addition, the fair placed second for a video prepared by Gina Mariani, second for Floor Fair Display prepared by Rachel George and Reba Wolgemuth, and third for the Premium Tabloid prepared by Engle Printing & Publishing Co., Inc.
The 2020 Elizabethtown Fair will be held on Monday to Saturday, Aug. 24 to 29. A tentative schedule and premium list will be available sometime in late February at http://www.etownfair.com. The fair board meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 8 p.m. at Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ Church, with the public invited to attend.
