Feb 15, 2020 - 12:00 pm

The Arts at Millersville will host the return of Pennsylvania Ballet II (PBII) with its Family Fun Fest presentation of "Fairy Rhymes." The performance will take place on Saturday, Feb. 15, at 1 p.m. at The Ware Center, 42 N. Prince St., Lancaster. Lobby activities for young people will begin at noon.

This is a sensory-friendly performance, and ASL interpretation will be offered.

Attendees will join the Three Little Kittens as they travel through nursery rhymes and fairy tales to find their lost mittens. Their journey will leads them to palaces, into forests, and even into other people's homes. They will meet nursery rhyme characters like Jack and Jill and the Old Lady in the Shoe, as well as fairy tale personalities such as Cinderella, Prince Charming, Snow White, Peter Pan, and Tinkerbell.

PBII is a company of young dancers who are just beginning their professional careers. The "second company" members receive daily, intensive instruction from Pennsylvania Ballet artistic staff and perform with the main company in Pennsylvania Ballet's larger productions. PBII also complements Pennsylvania Ballet's outreach and education program, appearing in approximately 20 performances and demonstrations per year in schools and theaters throughout Philadelphia and the surrounding suburban communities.

Pennsylvania Ballet II contributors include director Eddy Tovar; choreographers Samantha Dunster, Eddy Tovar, and Jaime Santoro; and composer Kermit Poling.
