Eastern York Recreation Authority will offer its Fall Garden Series family workshops to the community. All programs will be held in the pavilion at Emig Park, 2 Buttonwood Lane, York.
The Bountiful Harvest Workshop will take place on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10 to 11 a.m. The Edible Classroom will demonstrate simple cooking techniques utilizing the bounty of the fall garden. Participants will receive tips for growing these vegetables in their home garden. Vegetable infused omelets, soups, and zucchini noodles are a few of the tasty items attendees will enjoy.
Pumpkin Science Workshop will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 27, from 6 to 7 p.m. Attendees will take part in hands-on science experiments with pumpkins and discover how important pollinators are to growing more than 100 types of squashes. Participants will saute and enjoy different varieties of winter squash.
