Supporters of Solid Rock Youth Ministries (SRYM), 34 E. State St., Quarryville, have planned a new fundraising event for the nonprofit organization. The Farm-to-Table Dinner and Celebration will be held on Friday, May 17, at 6 p.m. It will take place at a farm in Quarryville, and the community is invited to attend.
The evening will feature items derived from local farms and markets. The menu will include a roasted pig seasoned with au jus, salad, grilled asparagus, seasonal vegetables, baked macaroni and cheese, and assorted fruit pies with ice cream.
In addition to dinner, attendees will also enjoy live music, outdoor yard games, and a s'mores bar. During the evening, there will be a brief program to share what is taking place at SRYM and to celebrate what God is doing through the ministry.
"We are so excited to be hosting this new event," said SRYM executive director Raeanne Nixon. "So many members of the community have already shown their support by helping to sponsor and volunteer for this event. We can't wait to see it all come together on May 17."
Tickets may be purchased until Friday, May 3, and may be ordered at http://www.solidrockquarryville.com. Tickets purchased in quantities greater than one will be discounted.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available, and donations of produce are being accepted. All proceeds from the Farm-to-Table Dinner and Celebration will help to support the after-school and summer programs offered by SRYM. All programs offered at SRYM are free and open to all youths in kindergarten through ninth grade living in southern Lancaster County.
The mission of SRYM is to earn trust through authentic relationships so the lives of youths and their families can be changed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
