Manheim Central field hockey will offer a fifth- and sixth-grade youth field hockey program for the first time. This developmental program will teach the basics and fundamentals of the sport in a fun, competitive, safe environment.
Practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Doe Run Graybill fields from Aug. 20 to Sept. 26 (12 practices total). The season will end with a seven-on-seven tournament at Spooky Nook Sports on Saturday, Sept. 28.
Girls will need to provide their own sticks, shin guards, mouth guards, cleats and water bottle. A cost per girl has been set, covering the cost of tournament fees and T-shirts. To register, visit http://www.mcfieldhockey.net/youthhockey.html.
