The Arts at Millersville University will resume the On Screen/In Person series with "God Given Talent: The Creative Life of Charles Curtis Blackwell" on Thursday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m. at the Ware Center, 42 N. Prince St., Lancaster.
This documentary centers on Charles Curtis Blackwell, a blind poet, painter, playwright and teacher. From Blackwell's challenging upbringing in California and Mississippi to his current creative life, viewers follow as he discusses loss, love, pain, and redemption, all through the prism of his artistic endeavors.
Following the film, Blackwell and filmmaker Jeff M. Giordano will take part in a live question-and-answer session, and the artist's works will be on display. This event is presented in partnership with the Millersville University Disabilities Film Series, and it is free and open to the public.
