Veritas Academy, 26 Hillcrest Ave., Leola, will host a College Financial Aid Workshop on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 5:30 p.m. The event is open to the public. Parents of high school students are especially encouraged to attend.
The event will address the following questions: What does the financial aid process for college-bound students look like? How do colleges determine eligibility, and what are the categories and types of aid available? How can one be sure they have correctly completed their financial aid application to get the best possible result?
Sonya Mann-McFarlane will explain the college financial aid process and highlight what parents need to know in order to be prepared to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). She is the Lancaster access partner for Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency.
During the latter part of the workshop from 6 to 7 p.m., parents will be guided through the FAFSA application process. Attendees should bring their laptops so that they can leave the workshop with a completed application.
Participants should enter the building through the main front doors and follow signs to the specific event location. To register, readers may visit http://www.veritasacademy.com/college-financial-aid-workshop.
