Firefighters To Help MDA

The Harrisburg Professional Fire Fighters Association Local 428 is showing its continued support for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) as its members kick off the annual Fill the Boot fundraising campaign to raise funds to help transform the lives of those with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related muscle-debilitating diseases. Firefighters from the Harrisburg Local 428 will hit the streets with boots in hand asking pedestrians, motorists, customers and other passersby to make a donation to MDA from noon to 2 p.m. on Fridays, Sept. 13 and 27, and Tuesday, Sept. 17, at the intersections of North Cameron and Maclay streets, Second and Forster streets, and Front and Walnut streets.

Funds raised through Harrisburg Fill the Boot events will help fund research and programs such as the MDA Care Center at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. They also help send local children to MDA summer camp at no cost to their families.
