Fitness Program Plans Fall Session

Jump for Joy (J4J), a nondenominational Christian fitness program, started its fall session on Tuesday, Aug. 24. Classes will be held in the fellowship hall of Trinity United Church of Christ, 40 W. Pine St., Palmyra, located at the intersection of West Pine and South Railroad streets, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:45 to 6:55 p.m. The session began on Aug. 24 and will consist of 12 classes, and people can join at any time during the session.

This is the 34th year that Jump for Joy is providing area women with opportunities for fitness and fellowship. J4J seeks to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual health.

Each class begins with a short devotional and prayer. The instructor and program creator, Lynn Elliott Kuhn, then leads participants through a complete body workout via aerobic dance routines choreographed to upbeat Christian and positive mainstream music. The workout combines stretches, cardio, strength, and balance moves. The dance routines are followed by a core workout, stretches, and cooldown on the floor. Chair options are given for floor work, and participants are encouraged to work at their own pace and level of impact.

Individuals may try their first class for free. For more details, contact Kuhn at 717-838-4682 or Jump4joy87@verizon.net or visit http://www.jumpforjoychristianfitness.vpweb.com.
