The Flipside Big Band will present the last in a series of free summer concerts at Huffnagle Park, located off Summit Avenue in Quarryville. The one-hour performance will begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31. The band is directed by Howard Boots, and the guest vocalist will be Erin Biles, vocal music teacher at Solanco High School. The trumpet solo on "Bye Bye Blackbird" will be performed by Gary Doll, retired instrumental music teacher at Solanco High School.
Attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs. In the case of rain, the concert will be performed at Memorial United Methodist Church, 101 S. Hess St. Readers may visit the "Huffnagle Park Concert Series" Facebook page for more information.
