The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank needs help to continue to meet the increased demand it is experiencing in the wake of COVID-19. Since March, food bank volunteers have packed more than 153,000 Crisis Response Boxes, and additional volunteers are needed to help pack more as the economic impact continues.
Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and must sign up in advance by visiting http://www.centralpafoodbank.org or calling 717-564-1700. They will then be scheduled at the food bank's off-site Central Packing Operations facility, where they will be kept socially distanced while packing boxes for those in need. All volunteers must wear a mask and gloves, which can be provided by the food bank. They will be asked to sign a waiver indicating they are free of COVID-19 symptoms and have not come in contact with anyone experiencing symptoms in the past 14 days. Those who have traveled out of state are asked not to volunteer until 14 days have passed.
