Foulk Will Attend Conference

Solanco High School freshman Rebecca Foulk received national recognition for her outstanding academic achievement, leadership skills and determination to serve humanity through a career in the field of medicine. Rebecca has earned a nomination to be a delegate to the Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Lowell, Mass., from Sunday, June 23, to Tuesday, June 25.

A news release from the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists states that during the conference, Rebecca and other top students from across the United States will listen to Nobel Laureates and National Medal of Science winners discuss leading medical research. The students will also learn about cutting-edge advances in medical technology, speak with deans from Ivy League and other top medical schools about what to expect in medical school, and they will hear from patients who are living "medical miracles." Rebecca was nominated by Dr. Mario Capecchi, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in Medicine and the Science Director of the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists.

Rebecca is the daughter of Justin and Julianna Foulk of New Providence.
