Lizzie Freese, a junior at Kennard-Dale High School, was chosen as the 11th-grade winner of the Americanism and patriotism essay contest sponsored by Fleet Reserve Association (FRA) Branch 106 in Harrisburg. For her accomplishment, she received a letter of recognition and a check for $50. In addition, her essay will be forwarded to the next level of competition, the regional level, where it will be considered in the Northeast/New England Region.
The FRA sponsors the annual essay contest to promote the spirit of Americanism and patriotism among the youths in the United States.
