The Mount Joy Area Historical Society will host Robert A. Frick as a guest speaker at its monthly meeting on Monday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m. at the Cemetery Road Schoolhouse, 120 Fairview St., Mount Joy.
Frick, a storyteller and a retired superintendent of the Lampeter-Strasburg School District, will present on the landmark Supreme Court case Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas. This decision outlawed segregation in public schools and marked the end of the "separate, but equal" decision made in Plessy v. Ferguson.
