Fulton Theatre, 12 N. Prince St., Lancaster, will continue the Ellen Arnold Groff Series, produced in the Tell Studio Theater, with the world premiere of "Changing Channels." Shows will take place on select dates through Sunday, Feb. 20.
Written by John Reeger, the play is set backstage at the DuMont Television Network in New York City during the Cold War, when some actors were blacklisted for their political beliefs. The show explores the space between fame and personal freedom and between acceptable dissent and political betrayal, all amidst the pressure of the rise of a hit comedy show.
Kate Fahrner plays comedy actress Maggie Carlin alongside Ruben Flores as Peter Bell. Joining Fahrner and Flores are Peter Bisgaier as Eddie Gilroy and James Patterson as Bullets Bloomquist. Rounding out the cast is DJ Gleason as Kenny, who is making his Fulton debut.
"Changing Channels" is directed by Kevin Earley, whose past Fulton activities include both performance and direction. Other members of the creative team include Marc Robin, Beth Dunkelberger, Jeff Cusano, Sophia Marshall, Paul Black, Tyler Mills, Seth Asa Sengel, Katelin Walsko, and Joey Abramowicz.
