The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) of Harrisburg, Central Pennsylvania recently announced that its 2019 MDA Shamrocks fundraising program with Grocery Outlet raised more than $5,821 to help transform the lives of children and adults with muscular dystrophy, ALS, and related muscle-debilitating diseases.
From March 1 through April 1, six local Grocery Outlet stores joined the St. Patrick's Day fundraising program in which customers purchased a paper MDA Shamrock in exchange for a contribution at checkout. Each Shamrock was signed by customers and displayed in the store.
This year, the MDA Shamrocks program celebrated its 37th anniversary, uniting tens of thousands of retail locations throughout the country to benefit the organization's shared mission to fund research across diseases and provide individuals with life-enhancing programs and support services, including state-of-the-art multidisciplinary care the MDA Care Center at Penn State Hershey Medical Center in Hershey.
