A wide variety of programs and activities will be offered for people of all ages in the fall. GEARS members should receive a copy of the fall 2021 brochure in the mail within a few weeks, and members can begin to register when they receive their brochure. In addition to online and phone registration, registration is available by fax or by stopping by the GEARS Community Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Some classes and programs fill quickly.
GEARS will accept team registrations for its Fall Coed Slow-Pitch Softball League until Friday, Aug. 27. League play will occur from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Mondays to Thursdays from Tuesday, Sept. 7, to early November. Each team will play a 10-game schedule with playoffs. There is a team entry fee.
GEARS is also accepting teams for its Fall Coed Sixes Volleyball League, scheduled to begin on Monday, Sept. 13, and conclude in early November. To be included in the league schedule, teams should submit a team roster and registration fee no later than Aug. 27. Teams should have a minimum of six and maximum of 15 players on their roster. Games will be on Mondays between 6:30 and 10:30 p.m. at Daubert Gym at Elizabethtown Area High School, 600 E. High St.; GEARS Community Center gym; and the gym at Elizabethtown Area Middle School, 600 E. High St. Teams must have two females on the court at all times. The league will be a 10-match season with playoffs. Those who call GEARS for additional information should ask to speak with Nate Diegel.
