POUND will be held on Fridays, March 26 to May 28, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Fighting Dragons, 101 Cherry St., Elizabethtown. The class features lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercise.
Cycle Strong will be offered on Saturdays, March 27 to June 5, from 8 to 8:45 a.m. via Zoom. People of all fitness levels are welcome for this low-impact workout set to music. The class can be modified for a treadmill, elliptical, or other cardio machine. It is open to individuals age 14 and older.
Intro to Medicare will explain the basics of Medicare, including how and when to sign up for Medicare, what is covered by the different parts of Medicare (A, B, C and D), and what the differences are between a Medicare Supplemental (Medigap) and a Medicare Advantage plan. The class will be offered via Zoom from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31. The class is free for GEARS members.
A Boys Middle School Volleyball Program will be offered from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, April 6 to May 27, at Stoneybrook Park, 317 W. Ridge Road, Elizabethtown. Players in grades five through eight will learn passing, setting, hitting, and offensive techniques and terminology to develop their skills and an enthusiasm for the game.
Two wellness classes will be presented by a registered dietitian and nutritionist. Food Smarts, Healthy Choices will discuss good nutrition and simple strategies for eating healthy on Wednesday, April 14.
Seniors Eating Well will be held on Wednesday, May 12, for caregivers of seniors. It will discuss food textures, changes in taste and smell, how to combat weight loss, and more. Both classes are open to adults, those age 18 and older, and will be held in the East Donegal Township Municipal Building, 190 Rock Point Road, Marietta, from 6 to 7 p.m.
One-hour guided trail riding will be offered at 5 p.m. on April 14 at Ironstone Ranch, 1 Hollinger Lane, Elizabethtown. Riders must be age 8 and over and weigh 225 pounds or less. Participants will ride horses through the 275 acres of woods and farmland. Horses are well mannered and trained to work with riders who have little or no experience. Face coverings are required upon arrival and check-in.
The 15th annual four-person "Spring Mix" Golf Tournament will take place on Friday, April 30, at Sunset Golf Course, 2601 Sunset Drive, Middletown, with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The tourney will feature three playing formats - six holes of scramble, six holes of better ball, and six holes of alternate play. The fee includes green fees, use of a cart, range balls, dinner, and awards.
