GEARS will offer tennis lessons on Tuesdays from May 7 through June 4 at the Elizabethtown Area High School tennis courts, 600 E. High St. The schedule will include Iddy Biddy Quick Start Tennis for children ages 4 to 6 from 5:30 to 6 p.m., Beginner Quick Start Tennis for children ages 7 to 10 from 6 to 6:50 p.m., and Intermediate Quick Start Tennis for youths ages 11 to 13 from 7 to 8 p.m.

Splash Bash, for people of all ages, will be held at Patton Pool at Masonic Village, 1 Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, on Friday, May 10, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Advance registration is not required, with payment at the door.

Medicare Madness will be a class for people who are about to turn age 65 that will be held on Wednesday, May 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. in GEARS Recreation Room 2, 600 E. High St., Elizabethtown. Jonathan Ebersole, a human resource benefits specialist, will teach.

The annual Elizabethtown Lady Bear Football Classic is scheduled for Friday, May 17, at the high school's Jane Hoover Field. At 6 p.m. a contest between the sophomore and freshman classes will kick the night off. The senior and junior classes will clash at 7:30 p.m. Spectators are encouraged to attend and support this traditional powder puff competition between the classes. An admission fee has been set to defray the cost of the games.

A two-person, double-elimination cornhole tournament will be held on Saturday, May 18, at noon (post registration at 11 a.m.) at the Elizabethtown Fair Grounds, 800 E. High St., with Memorial Hall serving as the rain location. ACL cornhole rules will apply, and there will be cash awards for first through third places. Food and beverages will be available.

Pond Fishing for Beginners will be a class on May 18 from 6 to 8 p.m., with a rain date of Sunday, May 19. Participants will be provided with a rod, a reel, tackle, and bait. This class will instruct beginners on how to use the equipment. Those age 16 and over must have a state fishing license.

A trip to the MGM National Harbor Resort in Maryland will be held on Monday, June 10. Departure will be at 8 a.m. from the Elizabethtown Area High School parking lot.

Trail riding sessions will be held on Wednesday, June 12, at 5 p.m., as well as on Wednesdays, June 26 and July 24, at 1:30 p.m., at Ironstone Ranch, 1 Hollinger Lane, Elizabethtown. Each session will feature one hour of guided trail riding. Participants will ride horses through the 275 acres of woods and farmland on the ranch. All children must be age 6 or older, and there is a strict weight limit of 250 pounds.

A track and field camp for grades three through eight will be held from Monday, June 17, through Friday, June 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Elizabethtown Area High School track Participants will learn how track and field can prepare them for other sports.
