GEARS will offer an Iddy Biddy Soccer program for children ages 3 to 5 at the Elizabethtown Area High School Field 2, 800 E. High St., Elizabethtown. Coaches will teach basic soccer skills such as dribbling, passing and trapping. The fee includes a T-shirt. This instructional program will be held on Saturdays, Sept. 12 to Oct. 24, except Oct. 10, from 9 to 10 a.m. (Class A) and 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. (Class B). Shin guards are recommended and cleats are optional.
Children ages 4 to 6 may participate in Iddy Biddy Basketball on Saturdays, Sept. 12 to Oct. 31, from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the Mill Road Elementary outdoor basketball courts, 35 Elm Ave., Elizabethtown. During this instructional program, coaches will teach basic shooting, dribbling and passing skills. The fee includes a T-shirt.
Buns, Guns & Cardio, a fitness and toning class for people age 14 and up of all fitness levels, will be available on Mondays, Sept. 14 to Nov. 30, from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. at the West Donegal Township Building, 1 Municipal Drive, Elizabethtown. Participants should bring two 5- to 10-pound dumbbells, along with water, a mat and a towel. The class will be held outdoors, weather permitting. Cheryl Dohner, a certified personal trainer, will instruct.
Power Yoga will be open to people age 14 and up on Mondays, Sept. 14 to Oct. 19, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the West Donegal Township Building. It is suitable for both beginners and advanced yoga students.
A Gentle Yoga Class will take place on Thursdays, Sept. 17 to Dec. 17, except Oct. 29 and Nov. 26, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the West Donegal Township Building. It is open to people age 14 and up of any fitness level, and no yoga experience is necessary. Participants will learn basic postures using safe alignment and modifications. Attendees should bring a yoga mat, yoga blocks, and a blanket. Michelle Pelna, a certified and registered yoga teacher, will lead.
