Participants in the Girls' Middle School Volleyball Program will compete in a Middle School Volleyball League on Mondays, Sept. 12 to Oct. 24, at Spooky Nook Sports, 75 Champ Blvd., Manheim, from 6 to 8 p.m. The program will meet on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from Aug. 15 to Oct. 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the gym at Bear Creek School, 1459 Sheaffer Road. Teams are open to girls in grades five and six and grades seven and eight. The fee to participate includes league fee, league tournaments, uniforms, and AAU insurance.
A trip to Ocean City, Md., for a day at the beach will be offered on Saturday, Aug. 6. Departure will be at 6:45 a.m. from the parking lot at Elizabethtown Area High School, 600 E. High St., Elizabethtown. Participants may enjoy the day at their leisure.
A trip to Atlantic City, N.J., to view Thunder Over the Boardwalk featuring the USAF Air Demonstration Squadron, the Thunderbirds, will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 24. The show will run from approximately 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A grab-and-go lunch and Steel Pier viewing privileges are available. Attendees will receive a voucher to sit in the covered seating area on the pier. Departure to Atlantic City will be at 7 a.m.
