The 14th annual Boots 'N Belles Daddy/Daughter Dance will take place on Friday, May 21, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. outdoors at the Elizabethtown Fairgrounds, 900 E. High St. The Western-themed event will include a professional disc jockey, a photographer, crafts, goodies and light refreshments. Each girl must be accompanied by a male chaperone, such as a father, uncle, or grandfather. The registration deadline is Friday, May 14. There is a fee per couple, with a lower fee for additional daughters.
Hatha Flow Yoga will be taught by registered yoga teacher Charla Lorenzen to people age 14 and up via Zoom on Mondays, June 7 to July 26, from 5 to 6 p.m.; Wednesdays, June 9 to July 28, from 6 to 7 p.m.; and Saturdays, June 12 to July 31, from 9 to 10 a.m. Participants should wear layers of comfortable clothing and have a yoga mat, strap and block. No experience is necessary. Separate fees have been set for those who attend one day per week and for those attending any two or more classes.
Fun With Yarn will be offered on Mondays, June 7 to 28, with children ages 7 to 12 meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. and people age 18 and up meeting from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. Using yarn, children will make a "silly dilly," flower paintings, rainbow clouds and more. Adults will create a Fourth of July wreath, birds and more.
Interval Strength/Cardio & Core will occur on Mondays, June 7 to Aug. 9, from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. There will be no classes on July 5 and Aug. 2. This class will use bicycles, cardio exercises, hand weights and bodyweight exercises. High- and low-intensity options will be given. Participants should bring two 3- to 5-pound hand weights and a yoga mat. Attendees must be at least age 14. Maria Cummings-Miller, who is certified in AFAA and Johnny G Spin, will instruct.
Discover Dance will take place on Mondays, June 7 to 28, from 6:15 to 7 p.m. for children ages 3 and 4 and from 7:15 to 8 p.m. for children ages 5 and 6. It will be held in the lobby at the GEARS Community Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown.
Core de Force, for people age 14 and up, will be held on Tuesdays, June 1 to July 13, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Fighting Dragons Fitness Center, 101 Cherry St., Elizabethtown. The class, led by certified Core de Force instructor Kayla Firestone, features 12 rounds of bodyweight training and cardio conditioning with boxing, kickboxing and Muay Thai-inspired combos.
