Global Launch Day Celebration Set

Susquehanna Heritage will celebrate Global Launch Day, marking the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 launch, on Tuesday, July 16. Participants will earn a Junior Ranger Spaceflight Explorer Certificate.

Ranger Hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at Columbia Crossing, 41 Walnut St., Columbia. Participants will make miniature straw rockets and count down a water rocket launch.

Stomp Rocket Launch will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Zimmerman Center for Heritage, 1706 Long Level Road, Wrightsville. Attendees will learn about early explorers like Captain John Smith and build a stomp rocket to celebrate the round-the-world global launch for the Apollo 11 anniversary.
