On Sunday, Aug. 18, the York Association of the United Church of Christ will sponsor a Go Green event at Shiloh United Church of Christ, 2251 Willow Road, York, from 2 to 4 p.m. The event will feature a climate change poster/magnet contest. All artwork can be brought to the Shiloh office daily between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. through Friday, Aug. 16. Prizes will be awarded in various categories.
Also featured at the event will be a free shredding truck, a climate change scavenger hunt for people of all ages, stations to create artwork out of recycled items, a climate change photo booth, a meatless chili cookoff, explanation of solar panels and an electric car on display. Free hot dogs and beverages will be available, and an ice cream truck will be on-site, with the first 100 attendees receiving free ice cream.
