GOAL Project Slates Workshop

GOAL Project will present "Breaking the Silence of Addiction," a ministry team development event, from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturdays, Jan. 29, Feb. 19, March 19 and April 16, at Iglesia Rohrerstown Mennonite Church, 601 Rohrerstown Road, Lancaster. The bilingual workshop will be presented in Spanish and English. GOAL Project recommends that at least two people from each organization attend, but more are welcome.

The workshop's goal is to provide team members with the information, skills and resources to initiate, plan and implement a congregational addiction prevention and recovery ministry. Pastor Israel Vega, Carmen Nahir Medina and Celso Mesias will speak about team functioning, the five congregational ministry areas, initiating the educational process within the team and congregation, identifying and working with community resources, developing an initial action plan, and using evaluation tools to measure effectiveness. Team members will receive two ministry guides. Participants may earn 12 PCB credits.
